Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was the only family member from her side to attend the royal wedding. Meghan and her mother have always had a very close relationship and Doria had been dreaming for the perfect person to come into her life.
After Doria and Meghan shared the historic ride to St. George’s Chapel together, Doria found herself in the front row of the Chapel. Holding back tears, she watched proudly as her only daughter took the hand of Prince Harry. The cameras captured Doria’s true feelings, leaving viewers a complete mess.
After the ceremony, Doria held onto the arm of Prince Charles as she watched her little girl being carried off in a horse-drawn carriage. Surely, she could not have been more proud. From the ceremony to the swanky reception where Doria was mentioned in two speeches (one from both Harry and Meghan), Doria was living a true fairytale!
In all of the magic of her the wedding, we were stunned to learn Doria’s favorite moments from the weekend. Of course, the most special moment was the ceremony itself, but can you think of her second favorite moment?
Surprisingly enough, her favorite moment outside of the ceremony was when she met the Queen! A source told Us Weekly that Doria had been looking forward to meeting the Queen for years before her daughter began dating the prince. She was thrilled to have had the chance to meet such an extraordinary woman.
The source also shared that Doria was prepped by Harry before the four of them sat down for tea, “It would have been extremely intimidating for anyone, but Meghan and Harry really did a marvelous job of preparing her with what to expect.” Harry made sure to paint his grandmother as the loving woman that she is by sharing “numerous stories about the queen as a grandmother and what she means to him.”
Doria met Queen Elizabeth just one day before the wedding when the three of them enjoyed tea at Windsor Castle. She also met with the rest of Harry’s family, and its believed that she got along well with everyone, especially Meghan’s newest niece and nephews: Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
We are so thrilled that Doria enjoyed her daughter’s wedding weekend! Surely, it must have been a whirlwind of an experience. Can you remember when your children got married? How was that experience for you? We hope the spend more time together in the future!
