The newest Royal baby has been with us for almost two months now, and fans are salivating over the possibility of seeing the little prince on Saturday morning, June 9th during the annual Trooping the Colour.
While most experts doubt that Prince Louis will make an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the rest of his family on that particular occasion, we still hold out hope that the Royals will surprise us with even a brief glimpse of their new little son. Even if he doesn't pop up that day, there’s no denying that he has to come out sooner or later.
And that time is becoming sooner, as the time for Prince Louis’ christening is drawing nigh. It takes only a glance at recent history to be able to figure out that it will definitely happen within the next month.
When Prince George was born on July 22nd, 2013, the first-time parents waited a full month before taking their son to The Chapel Royal at St. James Palace to be baptized on October 23rd.
Two years later, upon Princess’ Charlotte’s arrival on May 2nd, the newly-confident Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a bold move and scheduled her baptism for July 5th, a full month earlier than her brother’s.
On that lovely Wednesday afternoon, the family of four traveled to St. Mary Magdalene’s Church on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, to have their daughter dedicated to God.
So, you do the math. Prince Louis turns two months old on June 23rd and three months old on July 23rd. That definitely narrows it down a bit. Now add one more bit of evidence to the mix.
Since Kensington Palace has shown a pattern of announcing the event one month before the actual occasion, it is unlikely that it will occur before July 7th (one month from this story’s publication date), we can conclude that it will be sometime during the second or third week of July.
Without knowing what conflicting events may or may not exist that could serve to influence the actual date, it seems likely that it will be during the two-week window of time between July 8th and 23rd. Let’s see how close we came!
One last caveat: As we all know, the Royal Family is famous for keeping us all guessing about this kind of thing, and that leaks are rare and often erroneous. So, as always, we’ll just have to wait and see. But there’s no doubt that rumblings are starting - which usually means an announcement is forthcoming. Let’s keep on the lookout for the happy news of Prince Louis’ impending baptism. I can hardly wait!
