Fallen Cop's Eight-Year-Old Escorted to School by Police Officers

November 01, 2016

Police officers in Palm Springs are looking after the family of a fallen colleague.

Eight-year-old Vanessa Vega went back to school after suffering a tragic loss. Earlier this month, her father, Officer Jose Vega, was killed while responding to a domestic dispute. In response to this tragedy, her late father's police squad arrived at her home in police cars and their flashing lights to escort Vanessa to school. They even walked her all the way to her fourth grade classroom and met all her teachers and friends. They wanted Vanessa to know that she can call on her "uncles" for anything at all and they will be there for her no matter what.
