It’s sad news for Full House fans.
Lori Loughlin, star of the mega-popular Full House, is facing serious jail time for felony charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.
The star was accused of a college admissions scandal which featured a $500,000 admissions plea to feature her daughter and an A-list college’s rowing team. Lori, along with several other parents, took part in an admissions scam that allegedly invested more than $25,000,000 to colleges in agreement for their children to be guaranteed spots on the school’s rosters for sports and admissions.
According to ABC, Lori, 54, “was arrested in Los Angeles after an overnight flight from Canada, where she had reportedly been filming. Loughlin, who faces a felony charge of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, is expected to appear in court later this afternoon.”
PEOPLE states that court documents allege that Loughlin and her husband Giannulli, “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in the crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”
Lori is not the only Hollywood star to be accused of participating in this college scandal. Desperate Housewives star, Felicity Huffman, is also accused of paying more than $15,000 to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her oldest daughter.”
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI, the indictment claims that the actresses and other parents allegedly schemed to helped their children gain acceptance to top schools by helping them cheat on college exams. Lori will be appearing in court on March 13th, 2019.
