The Queen’s Latest Gift To Newlyweds Harry And Meghan Is Causing Jaw-Dropping Hysteria Everywhere

July 23, 2018

In what appears to be a belated wedding gift, Queen Elizabeth II has turned over the keys to a ‘little cottage’ at Windsor, and once you get a look at it you might have to check the definition of the word, ‘cottage.’

As Her Majesty is known to do, she has made another real estate transaction in favor of one of her heirs, and this time it’s newlyweds Prince Harry and his bride Meghan Markle. The couple married on May 19th and, since then, have made quite a mark for themselves. Their charm and charisma have won over the hearts of the world and we love to follow each and every move the delightful couple makes.

This time, we are thrilled to share in the joy of the newlyweds as they receive a new home from grandma, and it’s none other that Adelaide Cottage at Windsor Castle.

If you’ll remember, the FIRST house she gave them for a wedding gift was York Cottage on Sandringham Estate. And if that weren’t sufficient for the Duke and Duchess, she thought she’d better make an additional gesture with the new ‘cottage.’

"There are seven gated entrances and exits to Windsor Castle so the newlyweds could come and go without worrying about being photographed. Even though Meghan is probably used to being photographed by the paparazzi at this point, it sounds as though Adelaide Cottage could give both Harry and Meghan the extra privacy they might need.”

And just in case your definition of a cottage is a bit different from what the Queen’s is, you may want to read the description again!

“Built in 1831 as a retreat for William IV’s wife Queen Adelaide, it has been home to Royal dignitaries and courtiers…But Group Capt Townsend – equerry to King George VI when he and his wife Rosie Marchioness Camden were given the grace-and-favour property in 1945 – is its best-known former resident.” In other words, the lover that Princess Margaret was not allowed to marry because he was divorced lived there for many years.

It seems fans of the Duke and Duchess seem to agree that the cottage is a good choice for the newlyweds.

“@KensingtonRoyal @RoyalFamily Its beautiful & perfect for them! Ideal what #MeghanMarkle & #princeharry #DukeandDuchessofSussex need to build & live in with their children thru the years. Perfect to wrap #DuchessofSussex in warmth & hominess while in the arms of #DukeofSussex 💖”

We hope the Royal couple finds many years of joy and happiness in their new homes...and that they share lots and lots of photos with us, their loyal fans!
