February 19, 2018

A remake of the incredible journey for this Dog Champ and here is why. This California dog is finally home after going missing for nearly a year, Champ, a Siberian husky, was found more than 280 miles away from his Sacramento home.

Champ’s owner, Shaunta, took to social media to find her beloved pup. Her Facebook post went viral, being shared 36,000 times.

A good Samaritan in Bakersfield spotted Champ and took him to Petsmart, where employees found an implanted microchip.

Though all the phone numbers linked to Champ had been disconnected, an online search found Shaunta's Facebook post. That's when the eager dog owner finally got the call she was waiting for.

A nationwide network of husky enthusiasts gave the husky a lift home, stopping in three cities before arriving in Sacramento.

"I believe that someone probably took Champ, but I'm not exactly sure. He just wasn't home one day. But I didn't give up hope at all," said Lowman.
