Authorities are desperately searching fora 13-year-old girl who police call “missing and in danger” after her parents were found shot to death at the family’s home early Monday morning. Jayme was nowhere to be found at the residence and authorities fear that she "may have been taken."
Fox News reports, “Jayme Closs was reported missing after deputies discovered her parents' bodies inside their home on Highway 8, located west of Barron, Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told Fox 9. The Barron County sheriff's office did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for information.”
Police say they received a 9-1-1 call shortly before 1:00 AM on Monday from an unidentified person asking for assistance. Authorities would not say if the person making the call could have been one of the victims or the daughter.
13-year-old Jayme Closs is the deceased couple’s only child and has not been seen since. Jayme is described as being 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, with green eyes and blond or strawberry blond hair.
According to Fox News, “Investigators said as of 9 a.m. Jayme has not been found and urged the public to come forward with any information on the child's whereabouts. The FBI was called to assist in the search, Fox 9 reported.
“Fitzgerald told Fox 9 no past calls were made at the family’s home. Police did not indicate if there were possible suspects in the case, or whether they believe Jayme had left on her own or was kidnapped.”
