Thanks to social media platforms such as Twitter, where J.K. Rowling has over 14 million followers, people have access to brilliant minds such as hers. Recently, she took to Twitter to give the world a little insight into just how she writes, and it might not be what you expected.
Fellow Twitter users recently posted a Q&A with the brilliant writer, and she graciously gave us all we asked for and more. A user asked if she is ever tempted by new ideas before completing a current one. She responded, “Of course! ‘All (writers) have failed to match our dream of perfection...That’s why he keeps on working, trying again; he believes each time that this time he will do it, bring it off. Of course, he won’t which is why this condition is healthy.’ ~William Faulkner.”
One user asked her what tools she uses to write. She responded, “Pen, paper, and then Microsoft Word.”
Another user asked her what she does when she feels discouraged. She replied, “The wonderful thing about writing is that there is always a blank page waiting. The terrifying thing about writing is that there is always a blank page waiting.”
