In November 2018, the musical world was rocked with the news that the ex-wife of one of the greats had suddenly passed away.
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs was in a committed relationship with Kim Porter from 1994 to 2007. The two shared twin daughters, D’Lila Star and Jessie James (13), and a son, Christian (21).
Even after their split, the two remained close as they jointly co-parented their children, trying to give them the most normal and best life possible, considering their circumstances.
No one, especially the family, could have ever dreamt that Kim’s life would have been tragically cut short at the young age of 47.
Just a few days after she passed away, Combs was found grieving over her loss. “For the last three days, I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you, baby. I miss you so much. Today, I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates,” he posted on his social media.
While Porter wasn’t as widely known as Combs, she did some occasional modeling and made a few appearances in some television shows such as The Brothers and Wicked, Wicked Game.
Now, two months following her untimely passing, the official cause of death has been released, and the news of it brings back all the raw pain that her initial death caused. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office officially ruled the cause of death was by lobar pneumonia.
While this is certainly not an easy thing to hear, it surely gives the family a sense of peace and closure to finally know the real cause of her passing.
Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers, especially the children, as they process this new information and continue to grieve the loss of their beloved mother.
