Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s May 19th wedding draws ever closer, and every day we get new details about what is coming! Recently, it’s been announced that Meghan Markle’s family will be receiving a new honor that certainly isn’t something you’d expect! Meghan Markle and her family will be able to take part in a very old and noble tradition when they receive their very own coat of arms!

A coat of arms is a very personal thing, composed of a crest, motto and typically figures that support the crest. As a commoner, Meghan Markle’s family doesn’t have a coat of arms, much like Kate Middleton’s family lacked one as well! However, before Kate’s wedding, her family was presented with it’s very own crest, custom designed to honor their heritage. The Middleton crest features three acorns, one that represents each of the Middleton children. Acorns were chosen because of how common they are in her hometown of Bucklebury.

Following proper royal protocol, the coat of arms will likely be presented to Meghan’s father, Thomas Middleton, before May 19. The new Markle coat of arms is something that will be beautifully designed to honor Meghan and her family, and I know that we can’t wait to see what the new crest is going to look like, because it’s guaranteed to be gorgeous!
