There’s been too much drama for this soon-to-be mama.
On May 19th, 2018, Prince Harry of Wales married American Meghan Markle. On that day, Meghan became more than just a wife, she also became the Duchess of Sussex and an official member of Britain’s leading family. After less than six months of marriage, Kensington announced that the couple was expecting their first child together. And while this was exciting news, it quickly got overshadowed by other news in her new family.
Prior to entering into the Royal Family, Meghan was very public about her personal life. On her blog, The Tig, Meghan shared several details of her life. Based on the content that she shared prior to getting rid of her social media (at the Royal Family’s request), Meghan would have likely shared several behind the scene moments of her transition into Royal had she not gotten rid of her blog.
Meghan was an outspoken individual who believed that sharing her own ideas and beliefs was her right. Now that she’s apart of The Firm (The British Royal Family), Meghan is expected to play a part very different from her natural role; she is to remain graceful, silent, and supportive of all people.
In recent weeks, Meghan’s patience has been put to the test; shortly after the Harry and Meghan arrived home from their 16-day Down Under tour, it was announced that they would be moving to Windsor. This caused mass chaos in the Royal headlines as they were expected to move into Apartment 1A at Kensington.
Immediately, rumors of a feud between Harry and Meghan and William and Kate began to swirl. Many reputable tabloids and magazines reported that there were issues between William and Harry as well as Meghan and Kate.
And while several outlets have released more context on the rumored feuds, nothing has been confirmed or denied by any Royal court (Typically, Royal news is shared via Kensington Palace or on the Royal website). According to Life & Style, this feud has been difficult for Meghan to navigate
While this has likely been hard for every member of the Royal Family, it’s been reported to be especially difficult for Meghan. One source shared with Us Weekly that it has been “frustrating and stressful to have no voice.” The source added that Meghan, who has always had the freedom to share her own response and opinions. The source shared, “She’s always relied on her own voice to stand up for others, and for herself. So not being able to say anything is a debilitating feeling. She’s always been so independent, her entire life, and that’s all been taken away from her. She’s always been able to clap back on social media and now she can’t.”
We can see how this would be difficult. After all, coming into a new family is hard for most people- regardless of if you’re a Royal family member or not. There are new ways of doing things and relational dynamics that may differ from your own. We can’t blame Meghan for struggling during this season.
