Meghan Markle Fights Back Against Ugly Wedding Rumor, Refusing To Let Lies And Gossip Spoil Her Big Day. Here’s How

May 03, 2018

With only a few days to go until she walks down the aisle with her Prince Charming, Meghan Markle is still doing battle with family members who seem determined to put a damper on the couple’s happiness. Almost as soon as the word got out about Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s engagement, estranged family members came out of the woodwork with unflattering stories about Meghan’s true character. They’ve even gone so far as to beg Prince Harry to cancel the wedding to save himself from "the real Meghan."

People Magazine sets the record straight, “Despite reports claiming that her father Thomas Markle had been shunned by his daughter, he will be at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel to see Meghan, 36, marry her royal fiancé on May 19.”

This news flies in the face of the stunning open letter Meghan’s half-brother (from her father’s first marriage) Thomas Markle Jr. wrote, and published in In Touch Magazine, claiming that their father did NOT receive an invitation to the royal wedding and that no one from that side of the family will be in attendance.

People Magazine, however, begs to differ, reporting that they “understand that he is expected to be there.

“The former lighting director on TV shows such as Married With Children and General Hospital, who was married to Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland for nine years until 1988, lives a quiet life in Mexico.”

Reports that he is a recluse and refuses to leave home are wildly exaggerated, and insiders say that nothing in the world could keep the proud papa from walking his little girl down the aisle.

The article in People goes on to say, “During the engagement interview, Meghan also revealed that her dad and her royal fiancé had yet to meet, but that they had spoken over the phone. ‘Everybody was really happy.

And he’s talked to my dad a few times, hasn’t been able to meet him just yet, but it’s all been, it’s all been worth every effort,’ she said.

“After the couple’s engagement was announced, Meghan’s parents said they were ‘incredibly happy’ about the news. ‘Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person,’ they said in a joint statement. ‘To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents.’”

Let’s hope this is the last we have to hear about this ugly rumor. It’s down to the wire now, and Harry and Meghan deserve some peaceful, quiet time leading up to their big day, and we hope Meghan’s disgruntled family can restrain themselves from stirring up any more drama.

Hopefully, they can just be happy for their little sister and accept the fact that they don’t have the relationship they thought they did.

Here’s a look at the lighter side of the now-famous interview with Meghan and Prince Harry right after their engagement was announced. Enjoy!
