2019 - the year of Baby Sussex!
It’s an exciting time for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who are are now in the final weeks of welcoming their first child. Baby Sussex is expected to arrive in Spring 2019.
After announcing their happy news in October 2018 just hours before embarking on a 16-day trip Down Under, Baby Sussex has been a popular theme amongst the headlines. And while Royal babies are always crowd-pleasing subjects in the online world, Baby Sussex is an especially trending topic.
Meghan became a household name in 2017 after she became engaged to Prince Harry. The couple wed just seven months later in May 2018. Since Meghan’s entry into the spotlight, it’s been difficult to ignore the ways in which she is different from the rest of the Royal Family. In fact, she tends to give many longtime Royal watchers a sense of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Similarly to Princess Di, Meghan has proven that she will do what’s best for her and her growing family, rather than what is expected or traditional. One of the ways that Meghan has incorporated her own desires into her new life as a Royal will be recognized in how she chooses to parent Baby Sussex.
Harry and Meghan will be moving from their current residence at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage at Windsor. The move came as a shock to almost everyone who believed that Harry and Meghan would join their siblings, William and Kate, at Kensington. While this move affects Harry and Meghan, it also greatly affects Baby Sussex.
Since the Duke and Duchess are moving about 35 minutes away, the Duchess will be 42 minutes away from the Lindo Wing. The Lindo Wing is the famous location where Princess Di gave birth, as did the Duchess of Cambridge. Given that the Lindo Wing is just nine minutes from Kensington Palace, it makes sense Princess Di and Kate would deliver there.
It doesn’t make sense for Meghan Markle to deliver her child there. Instead, she will likely opt for somewhere closer to home. Several sources that Meghan will deliver her child at the Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. This hospital is just twenty minutes away, versus42-minute drive to the Lindo Wing.
Even though the Frimley Park Hospital doesn’t have the same prestige right off the bat, it has welcomed Royal Family members before! In fact, Prince Harry’s uncle, Prince Edward, and his wife, Sophie Countess of Wessex, welcomed two children there!
We are so excited for Baby Sussex and are happy that she’s thinking about having kids closer to her new home. As of now, there is no moving date for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex but several sources are claiming that it will happen sooner than later. What do you think?!
