If there is one thing that Meghan Markle is known for, it’s her classy style! Whenever she steps out on the town, she always looks perfectly poised and put together, and she’s always wearing the perfect outfit with not a stitch out of place. Until she visited Birmingham for National Women’s Day!
When she stepped out wearing a stunning wool J. Crew coat, heads were definitely turned by the gorgeous outfit. What most people didn’t notice right away, however, was that she had made one common fashion faux pas with her outfit! When a coat is made, the tailors sew an ‘x’ into the back, a tailor’s tack as it is commonly called. The tailor’s tack helps ensure the coat looks flattering when on the rack, but you’re supposed to remove it before you wear it.
If you don’t remove the tailor’s tack, the garment doesn’t fall as flatteringly on the body as it’s supposed to, and the hem will stretch to fit around the wearer. Of course, I think this is one fashion faux pas that she can easily be forgiven for, especially because the coat still looked quite amazing on her.
