A new book, due out this week, is shedding light on Meghan Markle before she was a famous actress, and is raising eyebrows across the internet.
Her childhood friend, Ninaki Priddy, knew the princess-to-be better than most and shares some revealing details about the Meghan she was close to - in Andrew Morton’s blockbuster biography “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.”
Above, Meghan Markle (on the left) and Ninaki Priddy (on the right) appear in an undated snap, showcasing their close friendship. Many people are unhappy that Priddy has shared her childhood memories of Meghan with the public.
Morton shares Priddy’s recollections about her BFF, “[Meghan] was always fascinated by the royal family. She wants to be Princess Diana 2.0."
The above photo depicts 15-year-old Meghan Markle (on the left) sitting on a railing outside Buckingham Palace. Little did she realize then that this massive building would one day become her "family home!"
Others close to Markle add that she was a bit obsessed with Diana “not just for her style but for her independent humanitarian mission, seeing her as a role model.”
Morton also delves into the natural comparison between Markle and Princess Diana, saying it is understandable because of their “humanitarian work and glamorous appeal.”
He goes further into the analysis by hypothesizing that "In some ways, the groomed and camera-ready Ms. Markle was the woman Diana always strove to become.”
Only time will tell if Prince Harry’s bride will have the same impact on the world, or win the depth of affection from the public that her Mother-in-law was able to achieve in her short, tragic life.
One thing is clear, though, that Meghan Markle is right where she wants to be and is likely to pull out all the stops to be that “Diana 2.0” that her friend claims she was always determined to be.
And if the world benefits from her efforts - all the better!
