It seems as though we waited an eternity to for May 19th to arrive. What was just another day on the calendar transformed into one of the most easily recognizable dates on the calendar thanks to the British royal family. On this day, Prince Harry married American actress, Meghan Markle, and the family hasn’t been the same since.
While Meghan already had a small following of fans from her rising acting career, she literally exploded overnight once word broke that she was the new love interest of Britain’s most eligible royal bachelor. Now, one month after they tied the knot, their love is still the talk of the internet.
The new Duchess of Sussex has had to undergo rigorous royal training where she’s learned the ins, outs, do’s, and don’ts of the royal way of life. From an outsider’s perspective, it appears as though she’s gotten it all down quite quickly.
She made her first solo outing with Queen Elizabeth recently, and it showed us just how far she’s come in such a short amount of time. Her appearance, mannerisms, and behaviors were all elegant and poised, proving that her training has been well-received.
This particular outing made many around the globe talk, and it was for reasons that no one could have anticipated. Meghan and the Queen got along quite well, and many were floored to see just how happy Queen Elizabeth appeared to be with her new granddaughter by her side. Their behavior that day led us to believe that this royal duo is already off to a magnificent start as far as friendship is concerned.
One source elaborated on the topic, stating that just because they two looked as though they’d been best pals from the start, they are still very much in the early stages of their relationship and have quite a ways to go still.
At this stage of the game, many have begun to wonder just how the Duchess is required to address the Queen. Does she call her Queen Elizabeth, or does she have a specific name? Thankfully, sources have opened up and given us the answers we’ve been, so longing to hear.
According to sources: “Per royal protocol, during the early stages of their relationship (as in right now), she’s expected to refer to the Queen as ‘Your Majesty.’ As they grow closer, she’ll move on to ‘M’am’ and eventually, if she follows Princess Diana’s footsteps, she’ll settle with ‘Mama,’ a nickname that is reserved for only the closest royals.”
Now that we know the order in which names progress depending on relation, we will just have to wait and listen to how Meghan addresses her new grandmother in the coming years. That, alone, will be so telling!
