Prayers are needed for the McCain Family as they endure the tragic loss of their beloved patriarch- John McCain.
John McCain passed away on August 25th, 2018- just one day after his family confirmed that he was halting medical treatment. He was 81.
On August 29th, the McCain Family said their final goodbyes to John. The memorial was held at the Arizona Capitol in Phoenix, Arizona.
During the ceremony, John’s wife, Cindy, wore black and painstakingly walked to the casket of her late husband. With an American flag draped over his casket, Cindy tenderly lay her head on it- almost as though to be hugging him goodbye one last time.
Following her mom, Meghan McCain approached her father’s casket and immediately broke down. As she wept for her father’s loss, photographers captured the truly heartbreaking moment of a daughter saying goodbye to her father.
Images from Senator McCain’s service have been shared around the world. Hearts are breaking for this family as their most vulnerable moments are being witnessed.
Meghan’s loss of her father has been especially shared with the public as she is a co-host on the popular talk show, The View. Meghan has shared so much of this process with fans and the public. Following his death, she shared a beautiful photo and caption on her social media.
The post read: “In the thirty-three years we shared together, he raised me, taught me, corrected me, comforted me, encouraged me, and supported me in all things,” she wrote. “He taught me how to live. His love and his care, ever-present, always unfailing, took me from a girl to a woman — and he showed me what it is to be a man.”
Meghan continued: “All that I am is thanks to him,” she continued in her tribute. “Now that he is gone, the task of my life is to live up to his example, his expectations, and his love. My father’s passing comes with sorrow and grief for me, for my mother, for my brothers, and for my sisters. He was a great fire who burned bright, and we lived in his light and warmth for so very long. We know that his flame lives on, in each of us. The days and years to come will not be the same without my dad — but they will be good days, filled with life and love, because of the example he lived for us.”
Please keep the McCain Family in your prayers during this tragic time. Loss is so very hard to navigate but during these times we pray for those affected to call upon The Lord for strength and hope. Please share this to encourage others to pray.
