The Duchess of Sussex’s spike to international stardom hasn’t been without its bumps and bruises. While she now seemingly has the world at her fingertips, she’s had to pay a great price for her new lifestyle.
When she met Prince Harry, it seemed like a perfect and beautiful fairytale. They appear to be head-over-heels in love and many dream of the day they can find a love like these two share.
Sadly, there are numerous individuals who don’t see their love, success, and worldwide notoriety as joy. Some of those that have attacked her more than any are none other than her own flesh and blood.
Meghan’s father and half-sister, Thomas and Samantha Markle, have seemingly made it their mission to ensure the Duchess doesn’t get too happy with her lifestyle. Their jealousy and envy toward her have turned into bitter wrath, causing them to do any and everything in their power to rise off of her fame and get a taste of it themselves.
The drama has, undoubtedly, affected the Duchess a great deal. I mean, it’s her family for Pete’s sake!
She has tried time and time again to take the high road and went to extreme measures to prove her character and love for her family despite their bitter jealousy. Her father recently did his best to get back in the spotlight once more by leaking a very private and heartfelt letter Meghan wrote to him, urging him to cease his actions.
She had all the hopes that her father would take this as a “peace treaty”, but instead he opted for another quick money-making scheme and passed it off to the Mail On Sunday where they released all the details of the letter.
This was the last straw for the Duchess of Sussex. While she might not have followed strict royal protocol, she knew she had to take matters into her own hands once and for all.
Sources state: “Meghan has had enough and has threatened the Mail On Sunday with legal action under the Copyright, Designs, and Patents Act for publishing a private letter she sent to her father.”
It continues: “Representatives of the Duchess have been in touch with the newspaper after its decision earlier this month to publish the handwritten message sent to Thomas Markle.”
While we have yet to hear word of any further development in the legal prosecution, we can only hope that this will prove once and for all that a member of the royal family, whether blood royal or not, is not to be messed with under any circumstances.
