On March 15, The Sharp family from Creston, Iowa, headed down to spend some time on vacation in Mexico. When they told their family that they had safely made it to their condo in Tulum, their family didn’t expect it to be the last time they’d ever hear from them. When the family missed their flight back home on Wednesday, March 21, they knew something had gone horribly wrong.

Their extended family members contacted the U.S. Embassy in Mexico to investigate, and a missing persons report was filed. Mexican authorities went to the families condo to investigate, and soon found the bodies of Kevin Wayne Sharp, 41, Amy Marie Sharp, 38, Sterling Wayne Sharp, 12, and Adrianna Maria Sharp, 7, inside. Police have not released an official cause of death for the family, but do say that there are no signs of foul play.

The families death comes one week after a State Department travel advisory warning people to exercise extreme caution when visiting Playa del Carmen in Mexico because of crime. This loss of this loving family is one that is going to leave a scar on their extended family and community for years to come. Please, keep this beloved family in your thoughts and prayers.
