Temple, Texas was rocked to its core on Friday, March 23, when a horrible accident struck. 911 received a call around 2:31 pm local time about an accidental shooting that they knew immediately was going to be the cause of quite a few debates in the coming times. The call came from a woman near the 300 block of South 25th Street after a four-year-old child got ahold of a loaded weapon.
The young child had accidentally shot a 7-month-old infant in the household and the baby was in bad shape. Police are not yet revealing how the infant is doing or even the child’s gender, but it has been taken to a nearby hospital. There is no word on whether or not the children are related or if the woman who called was their mother, but more details are sure to emerge as police investigate.
When reporters questioned the neighbors about the shooting, they stood by the family. As the story spread online, more and more people have begun to criticize the family, blaming them for the mistake. Neighbors have rallied around the family, although they do agree that the gun should have been better secured, it seems they’ll be there to help defend the family as they face whatever comes their way next.
