The world was absolutely rocked to the core when the beloved 78-year-old Jeopardy! host, Alex Trebek, made his heartbreaking health announcement that he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Trebek had struggled on and off with his health for some time but no one truly knew the severity of his circumstances until he chose to officially make it public knowledge.
From that moment on, Trebek has received floods of well wishes, sentiments, prayers, and words of wisdom from friends, family, and fans across the globe. Recently, one prominent face in Hollywood broke her silence on the subject and knew she had to speak up now.
The 70-year-old famed Grease star, Olivia Newton-John, is no stranger to battling the nasty illness of cancer. She, too, is currently fighting against it for the third time, and she knows just how tiring, defeating, and grueling the battle truly can become.
Upon hearing Trebek’s diagnosis, she offered words of wisdom that he so desperately needed to hear.
She told sources, “I sent him a message saying, ‘I know you can get through this,’ and, ‘Don’t listen to stage 4 and all of that. Don’t read the statistics and stay focused and see how you can heal yourself.”
She continued, “That helps. Sense of humor is vital. He has a great attitude and a great sense of humor about it and I’m sure he’ll do very well.”
This is clearly her ways of staying positive throughout such a horrific health storm and she certainly wanted to pass along the insight to her dear friend in his battle as well.
Please keep the both of them in your thoughts and prayers as they each strive to overcome these grim diagnoses!
