Olivia Newton-John is one of the world’s most adored faces in Hollywood. From being discovered at just 14 years old to international fame after releasing her single, "Till You Say You'll Be Mine", and of course, her massive success from the iconic film, Grease, Olivia stole the hearts of them all.
In 1992, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After receiving the care she needed, she was believed to be free from cancer. Then, in 2013, Olivia got into a minor traffic accident that sent her to the hospital. During a routine exam, doctors discovered cancer in her shoulder.
Not long after learning of her returned breast cancer, she revealed that she was also fighting cancer in her shoulder. In September 2018, Olivia shared a candid interview with Sunday Night, telling that her breast cancer had also returned in May 2017 - although she had never said anything. During her Sunday Night interview, she also shared that she’s fighting cancer found in a tumor at the base of her spine.
In December 2018, one source claimed that Olivia’s body was beginning to shut down. The source, who has not to be named, revealed that all of her organs were beginning to fail and she only had weeks to live.
Immediately following the source, tabloids began sharing that the iconic actress and singer was just days from dying. When the news got back to her manager, Michael Caprio, he shut the claims down and shared that they were not only false but also “hilarious.” Michael Caprio warned fans by saying, “You might want to get better sources versus reading tabloids.”
But somehow, even after Olivia’s manager confirmed that she was not weeks away from dying, people still trusted the faulty tabloids. That’s when Olivia, herself, took to Twitter to set the message straight! Check out the video below.
In a quick video clip, Olivia Newton-John addressed the rumors of her failing body. She began her message with a cheerful welcome to the new year by saying, “Happy New Year, everyone! I just want to say the rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated, to quote a very famous quote, and I’m doing great and I want to wish all of you the happiest, healthiest 2019 that’s possible.”
After seeing her cheerful video, it was clear that she was not weeks away from death. She still needs your prayers as she continues to fight breast cancer for the third time along with cancer in her spine, but she ensures her fans that she the rumors of her health have been “greatly exaggerated.”
Thank goodness she chose to clear things up herself! Please please please spread Olivia’s message because she’s got the truth - not the tabloids! We are so happy to hear that she’s in good spirits and we will continue to pray for her healing.
