On Tuesday, March 27, a young man was walking through a motel parking lot just after midnight when he began to hear arguing. That was when things took a turn for the worse, and he began to hear gunfire. After feeling a sharp, sudden pain in his back he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in temporary serious condition.

Police arrived at the motel and began to investigate the shooting, hoping to find the shooter still nearby. In the window of Room 119, a small bullet hole had pierced the glass. As they entered the room, police were shocked to find two toddlers sitting alone in dirty diapers. One of the children was settled in a crib while the other was comfortable on the bed of the room.

The children were taken into CPS custody and police are attempting to find their parents. The children are both believed to be under two years old and police are currently unsure if they are related. If you recognize the children or know where their parents are, police urge you to contact the Detroit Child Abuse Section at 313 - 596 - 5329.
