President Trump Threatens To Take Major Action Towards Mexico Borders In Response To Dems’ Immigration Laws

March 29, 2019

President Donald Trump is getting very vocal about his frustration with the Democratic immigration laws. On Friday, March 29th, he threatened to fully close the Southern Border as early as next week if Mexico does not “immediately stop” the record-breaking surge of illegal immigrants flooding into the United States.

The President is referring to March 2019’s border apprehension record which is on track to exceed more than 100,000 illegal immigrants. According to CBP, more than 12,000 Mexican migrants are accounted in custody just in the last week of March 2019.

Once again, Trump took to Twitter to voice his frustration with the current immigration control issue. Through a series of tweets, he shared, “The DEMOCRATS have given us the weakest immigration laws anywhere in the World. Mexico has the strongest, & they make more than $100 Billion a year on the U.S. Therefore, CONGRESS MUST CHANGE OUR WEAK IMMIGRATION LAWS NOW, & Mexico must stop illegals from entering the U.S….”

He added, “Through their country and our Southern Border. Mexico has for many years made a fortune off of the U.S., far greater than Border Costs. If Mexico doesn’t immediately stop ALL illegal immigration coming into the United States through our Southern Border, I will be CLOSING…”

In his final tweet, he wrote, “The Border, or large sections of the Border, next week. This would be so easy for Mexico to do, but they just take our money and “talk.” Besides, we lose so much money with them, especially when you add in drug trafficking, etc.), that the Border closing would be a good thing!”

According to Fox News, more than 76,000 migrants were detained in February 2019- marking the highest number of apprehensions in 12 years. Fox goes on to say “that figure includes more than 7,000 unaccompanied children. More than 36,000 migrant families have arrived in the El Paso region in fiscal 2019 with about 2,000 at the same time last year, according to CBP data. The influx has prompted new challenges for Border Patrol agents.”

President Trump has made these threats after already threatening to close the Southern Border as he believes Central America and Mexico are not doing anything to assist in border control. On Friday, President Trump claimed that Mexico is purposefully choosing not to do anything to assist. CNN reports that he shared, "Mexico can stop them, but chose not to. So they're going to stop them, and if they don't, we'll close the border, and we'll keep it closed for a long time."

The president claims that his threat is not a joke, claiming, "I'm not playing games." For more information, visit Fox News.
