The royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is just around the corner and in a surprising turn of events, the attention has all of sudden shifted from the American bride-to-be to former bachelor, Prince Harry.
The wedding is scheduled for May 19th, 2018 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. With the day quickly approaching, the public is getting quite antsy that for private details. Weeks before the wedding, the creator and baker of the wedding cake was announced and let’s just say- the internet nearly collapsed.
Most recently, some even bigger news has made its way to media headlines and people are going nuts over the subject. So, what is the subject, you ask?
Prince Harry’s wedding day attire!
Typically, the groom gets very little attention during the wedding planning. His details and requests are vastly overlooked by the bride’s vision, but in the instance of Meghan and Prince Harry, he’s getting all of the attention!
Prince Harry is considering two very different looks for his big day! He will either be dressed according to British etiquette in “Morning Dress” (which would entail a high-end tuxedo), or he’ll be in his military uniform!
The Duke of Cambridge wore his gorgeous red Irish Guards Mounted Officer’s uniform for his wedding to Kate Middleton. According to a royal expert and officer of arms Alastair Bruce, “the Duke wore his official uniform because he recently been appointed by the Queen and his wedding, as a future monarch, was more a ceremonial event.”
Bruce shares that Prince Harry may consider his own uniform since he is now Captain General of Royal Marines. However, he thinks Harry will opt out of wearing his uniform as it will “Change the day.” He goes on to say, “The way this is different is that [Harry] is not in the direct line of succession. He is a member of the royal family so he can do that if he wishes.”
While those are two choices for Prince Harry’s wedding day attire, the world will have to continue wondering what the groom will wear. What do you think he’ll be in on his big day? Morning Dress of official uniform?
