Prince William and Kate Middleton Have To Use Different Titles Altogether When They Visit Scotland. The Reason Why May Surprise You

February 23, 2018

When traveling, one doesn’t think a lot about how to properly address himself in a new area. As a member of the Royal Family, that is something that must be taken into great consideration. When they travel to various countries, they often alter their name accordingly.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. When they visit Scotland, though, the titles are drastically altered. The reason for this adjustment is that in this particular country, they use an entirely different set of titles for Royals.

While here, William and Kate are not known by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge but by the Earl and Countess of Strathearn. This title is derived from an area called Strathearn that is nestled in the center of Scotland.

While we might not know who in the world the Earl and Countess of Strathearn are if heard, they’re definitely known as such in that country. I wonder which title they personally prefer?
