We've all heard that if you want to get a message across to someone, just come right out and say it. Definitely the most direct approach, no doubt, but also a lot less fun. When a message is hidden or takes a little deeper thought to understand, it can satisfy levels of our minds that don't often get adequate stimulation. And if you like puzzles, as I do, then this story will definitely intrigue you.
Take, for example, the practice many companies have of hiding secret messages or images within their well-known logos. Believe it or not, it's more common than you might think. When we get through with you, I guarantee you are going to look at all logos and ads more closely from now on!!
Shall we begin?
We've all seen the iconic red, white, and blue logo and we all recognize the domino covering the top half of the design. But did you know that the number of dots on that domino has huge significance?
The single dot refers to their original store that opened in in Michigan in the 1960s and the two dots refer to the first two franchises that opened a few years later. The original plan was to change the number of dots on the logo to reflect the current number of stores they had.
But when the popularity of the franchise exploded, there soon became too many dots to fit on the sign.
So, they returned to the original one/two dots and that's how it's remained since then. The only significant change that has been made since then is the removal of the word, 'pizza' in 2012.
No need for the redundancy since "Domino's" is synonymous with 'pizza.' Since everyone and their mother knows what Domino's is famous for, right?? I have to admit, though, that I never even noticed that there is no longer any "pizza" in Domino's! ;-)
Yum!! Am I right? Everyone LOVES these delightful little lumps of chocolatey love. But did you know that there is a whole big thing about not only their name but also a secret image hidden in their logo? It's true! read on...
The universally-loved bite-sized treat was first created in 1907 and for the first 14 years of its existence, each individual chocolate was wrapped in the iconic silver wrapper - by hand! it wasn't until 1921 that automation took over. I don't know about you, but I wish they'd invent the machine to UNwrap them!!

Personally, I prefer to think it has to do with the love we feel when we pop one of the sweet treats into our mouth! Nothing sweeter than a 'kiss,' right?
