When Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot in 2011, many people could sense that they were a force to be reckoned with. Their devout bond to one another and to their country has been undeniable from the very start, and it’s been rather remarkable to see just how they’ve managed to adjust the way of life in the royal household.
Since they wed, they’ve expanded their family and now have three beautiful children: four-year-old Prince George, three-year-old Princess Charlotte, and three-month-old Prince Louis.
From the moment each child was born, the world has fallen head-over-heels in love with the adorable Cambridge trio. Their charming grins, sweet spirits, and chipper personalities are only a handful of reasons why they’re so beloved by many.
On July 9th, Prince Louis was christened at the Chapel Royal in St. James’ Palace in London by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. A great deal of the royal family was in attendance for the momentous occasion.
This was only the second time that the world has gotten a glimpse of the youngest royal and it was just as thrilling to see him as we had hoped. During this occasion, though, one question seemed to be burning in the minds of many well-wishers and devout royal fans.
It has been long debated as to who would have the grand privilege of becoming godparents to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s growing family. Thankfully, Kensington Palace took note of the repeated requests and gave us exactly what we were hoping to hear.
On the morning of Louis’ christening, the family website posted a list comprised of the “chosen ones” that would have the great honor. Prince George has seven, Princess Charlotte has five, and Prince Louis has six. As surprising as it may seem, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were nowhere to be seen on the list.
Prince George’s godparents are as follows: Olivia Baker, Emilia Jardine-Peterson, Julia Samuel, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Earl Grosvenor, William van Cutsem, and Zara Tindall.
Princess Charlotte’s chosen godparent are Tom van Straubenzee, James Meade, Sophia Carter, Laura Fellowes, Adam Middleton.
Prince Louis’ godparents are Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Lady Laura Meade, Mrs. Robert Carter, and Lucy Middleton.
Is this list anything like you’d expect?
