We all have certain foods that we can't seem to live without. When I try to come up with a list of my favorites, it would surely contain chocolate chip cookies, key lime pie, watermelon, and fried chicken. Those are just a drop in the bucket of all the foods that would make the top of my list.
Everyone has a food (or several types of foods) that they dream about - even the Queen has a favorite! In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the Queen's personal chef, Darren McGrady, let us in on all the details of her favorite dish.
Just like us, she also has a snack craving she just can't seem to shake. Her food of choice: Chocolate Biscuit Cake, of course! It's a frequent dish on the Buckingham Palace so she can enjoy it almost any time she desires. She loves it so much so that her senior chef even brings it along with her when she travels across the world!
"Now the chocolate biscuit cake is the only cake that goes back to the queen again and again and again every day until it's all gone. She'll take a small slice every day until eventually there is only one tiny piece, but you have to send that up. She wants to finish that whole cake," McGrady said.
It seems as though the Queen has even passed down this delicious dessert craving to her grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry. Former royal chef, Carolyn Robb said,"It was a firm favorite in the royal nursery; so much so that, many years later, Prince William chose to have chocolate biscuit cake at his wedding for the groom's cake."
Luckily, McGrady was generous enough to share this marvelous cake recipe with the world and we couldn't be more excited! Check out the recipe on the following page to see just how to make the Queen's favorite dessert.
