These Killer Whales Breaching Is An Incredible Sight To See

September 28, 2017

What an amazing sight to see! A pod of killer whales is enjoying an afternoon out on the water when a tour group stumbles upon them and gets the show of a lifetime. Orcas are also known as Killer Whales, not because they kill humans but because they are known to take down other large sea creatures such as sea lions and other whales.

According to National Geographic, Orcas are the largest species of the Dolphin family. They weigh up to six tons and grow to 23 to 32 feet in length. That is almost as long as a school bus! According to Sea World, the largest Orca ever recorded was 32 feet long. In our video, we see a pod of Killer Whales that has just feasted upon a grey whale calf, and that is why they seem to be up for entertaining the humans on the boat.

Nancy Black, the owner of a tour company, Monterey Bay Whale Watch, gives the people on her tour more than their money's worth when they happen upon this family of whales. Watch the incredible footage, below. Warning! You may become envious of the lucky folks who get to witness this in person.
