Princess Diana will eternally be remembered as a woman who walked through life with beautiful grace. Her keen sense of fashion was mirrored throughout the globe as women attempted to emulate her.
People flooded stores to buy outfits that looked like her latest outfits, headed to jewelry stores to find similar pieces she wore and even rushed to their hairdresser to get their hair styled similarly.
Princess Diana’s most iconic hairstyle was popularized in the 1990s when she posed for a British Vogue photo shoot. The stylist on set was Sam McKnight, and he had the idea to change her look a bit for the photos.
According to sources, McKnight stated, “I made her hair look short in the tiara for the shoot, and she decided she liked it. As she was leaving, Diana asked what would I do to her hair if I had free reign. I suggested cutting it short and she, to my surprise, agreed, and we did it there and then.”
She ended up loving the haircut so much that she continued to work with McKnight on multiple occasions after. He would routinely stop in to get her hair touched up or a quick fix before an event. McKnight became so beloved by the family that even Prince William and Prince Harry got him to cut their hair as well!
