Three-year-old Hannah Wesche passed away at 12:15 am on Sunday, March 18, following a brutal assault by her 35-year-old babysitter, Lindsay Partin. The police were called to the Partin residence on March 8 and found Hannah covered in bruises on her head and face, unresponsive, and with labored breathing. They immediately rushed her the hospital.
When questioned, Partin said that Hannah had fallen and struck her head on the concrete on the garage floor the day before. She then admitted to having struck the child earlier in the month but still does not state that Hannah’s death is her fault. She has been charged with felonious assault and child endangerment and has entered a plea of not guilty.
Doctors had originally told Hannah’s family that she would not survive and that it was likely only going to be days before they lost their beloved baby girl. They now urge other families to make sure to research their babysitter or whoever is watching their child, and make sure to get references and a background check at the very least. The Butler County Sheriff, Richard Jones, announced that the case is still under investigation. Hopefully, Partin will soon be facing murder charges.
