Devastating news has hit Prince William and Prince Harry and the whole world is now waiting to see just how they will respond.
It’s no secret that William and Harry are big advocates for wildlife. On numerous occasions throughout their lives, they’ve made trips all across the globe in efforts to protect, support, and maintain healthy living for many kinds of wildlife.
One place that is incredibly near and dear to their hearts is Botswana. It all started here shortly after their mother, Princess Diana, tragically passed away when they were young boys. Their father, Prince Charles, knew just how devastated they were after her loss and thought it fitting to take them there as a getaway to help process through grief.
After that, it was a place they’ve always treasured. As they’ve gotten older, they’ve both made numerous visits and have tried to encourage safety and protection of the elephants there. The country of Botswana had originally held a ban against killing elephants in the country since 2014.
Sadly, a new turn of events has occurred and William and Harry will likely be pretty heartbroken over it. It was just announced that the killing ban has been lifted once again in this country.
According to sources: “Botswana has the largest elephant population in Africa, and have over 100,000 roaming freely in the country’s unfenced parks and open spaces.” It is believed that the ban was removed because the population of the elephants has grown nearly unmanageable in this area.
Only time will tell just how these two will react to hearing this news. One can only assume they’re praying for a reversal and for things to change before anything serious happens.
